Well, I went to the Perinatologist for genetic counseling yesterday. It was kind of a wasted trip because my doctors office forgot to mention to them about my mom's disease, so when I got there, they had no idea about it. And then when the peri. found out what it was, she said that they could do nothing for me there, but she would make me an appointment with the Cancer Institute for genetic counseling. So now I have to go through all this again...but I'm glad to be finding out more about this disease. Basically the doctor told me that I had a fifty-fifty chance of inheriting the disease from my mom, and if I had inherited it, that there was a fifty-fifty chance that my children could inherit it. The only way to find out if I have inherited it or not is through genetic testing. If insurance will pay for it, then I will go ahead and have it done so I will know for sure, but if not then I don't think we can afford to do it because it is so expensive. I will just have to keep up the annual thourough eye exams, cat scans and all the other tests so they can look for signs of the disease. I should be getting a cal back from the doctors office by tomorrow with my new appointment. I will keep everyone posted!!

Today is day number 90, and I'm SICK!!! Yuck, yuck, yuck! But I'm feeling a little better...and it's been so nice and sunny and warm outside, so that is helping too. My OB office called today and they scheduled an appointment with the perinatologist for me to have genetic counseling. When I wrote down all the family history and all that good stuff during my first doctor's appointment, my OB got a little concerned. So they are considering this a high risk pregnancy because of my family history and because of the problems I've had so far. I'm kind of glad because that means that they will monitor the baby a lot more closely and there will be less chance of soemthing bad happening. And also, they might give me a 3D ultrasound when it's time to find out the gender. That would be so awesome!! I will keep everyone posted with how the appointmet goes. Hope everyone is doing well!

Day number 88, and it is Valentine's Day!! Happy Valentine's Day everyone, hope you had a great one! Aaron and I are enjoying a normal night at home, nothing special. I guess we sound like an old married couple, but it's what we wanted to do tonight. He gave me the DVD sets of the first season of my two favorite shows...Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Houswives. I know, I'm pathetic, but I am addicted to those shows! Nothing special has been happening, and I still haven't made any progress in the photo area, but I'm still working on it. Computers..they give me a headache! Hope everyone is well!

Day number 87, 13 weeks and 1 day pregnant. I told Aaron today that I'm getting worried because I haven't felt the baby kick yet, but he said it is probably because of the extra padding on my belly. Talk about being brutally honest! I'll have to fill him in that little white lies are okay sometimes, ezpecially when you are dealing with crazy pregnant women! He'll learn sooner or later I'm sure! Hopefully I will feel the baby soon so I can quit worrying about it so much.

Well, today is number 86, and I am 13 weeks pregnant. The first trimester is officially over! Man, it is really going by so fast. Aaron and I had a great weekend at my sister's. It's always nice to get away sometimes, even if you don't go far. I can't believe I'm starting to show so much already! It's been almost an overnight change. Hopefully I will have pictures on here this week so everyone can see. Hope everyone is doing well!

Today we have taken some of the first steps for preparing for our baby. We sold Zoe, our bird, that we have had for over 3 years. Watching her go with her new family was by far one of the hardest things we've ever had to do, especially for Aaron. But we know it was for the best because she could have been a hazard to a curious toddler with little fingers later on. We just could'nt take that chance. I just hope that she will be happy with her new family. Today is number 84, and I only have 196 days left until the due date. I've really got to get working on the baby's nursery. Right now it is pretty much a storage room for all the stuff we don't know what to do with at the moment. I'm thinking a garage sale and a trip to the local Goodwill are in my future. And it needs to happen soon before I keep getting bigger and bigger, and then I might not feel like doing much of anything! I'm going to take pictures of the nursery as I work on it so you guys can see how much progress I've made. This weekend will put a big dent in what I need to do in there since we are taking a trip to my sisters. I am giving Hannah all of my old crazy daisy bedroom stuff, which has been taking up a lot of space in the new nursery. So at least that is a start! I'm working on putting pictures on here, so be patient with me! Thanks to everyone who signed the guest book...keep talking to me!

This will be the first journal entry! Today is number 83 and I'm 12 weeks pregnant. Baby's age since conception is 69 days, or 10 weeks. I luckily, have had no morning sickness whatsoever!! But I have had some aversions to foods that I normally love, which stinks, and it's made it hard for me to have much of an appetite. I've lost 11 pounds since my first visit to the OB in January, but the doctor said she's not concerned and that it is pretty normal. I just have to start gaining weight from here on out! I'm sure that will happen since my appetite is slowly returning. I've started showing a little bit already! I'm not quite ready for maternity clothes yet, but it won't be long since I only have a few items of my normal clothes left that I can wear. I've lost weight, but I think it all went to my belly! LOL! The doctor said that everything looks great with the baby so far. We have our first ultrasound pictures! I will post them on here as soon as I figure out how...whenever that may be! I'll also post some belly pics to show those of you I don't see very often my bump progress! Hope you all enjoy the site!
